Who is the Ability First Coalition?

Welcome to the Ability First Coalition website. Ability First is a non-profit group of dedicated professionals who feel strongly about the importance of hiring people with disabilities.

Ability First meets monthly to share best practices and success stories related to hiring and retaining persons with disabilities. Ability First works with PIE – Partners in Employment, who are the non-profit agencies that provide services to help employers recruit, hire and retain persons with disabilities.

In today’s market, employers need to look to new and non-traditional sources for skilled employees. People with disabilities have experience solving challenging problems on a daily basis and can bring new and innovative perspectives to the workplace.
