Event: The Ability First Coalition 2015 Champion Awards
Date: Friday October 30, 2015
Time: 8:00 am to 9:30 am
Location: Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre
591 Wellington Road
The Ability First Champion Awards will celebrate the finalists and honour three businesses, companies, individuals or organizations that have hired and retained people with disabilities in the following categories: Advocacy Award, Small Business Award and Large Business Award.
The 2015 Champion Awards nominees are:
7:45 to 8:00 am Registration
8:00 to 8:30 am Breakfast
8:30 to 9:00 am Keynote Speaker: Mike Mulligan
9:00 to 9:30 am Champion Awards Presentation
This year’s keynote speaker is Mike Mulligan. Just weeks after working with TD Canada Trust to realize Mike’s dream of opening a work-out gym in London, Ontario, dedicated to people with physical limitations, Mulligan got a surprise visit from the banking institution in November. Bearing an access card for a time-limited account totalling $30,000, a local small business banking advisor dropped into the Moving Forward Rehabilitation and Wellness Center and offered Mulligan a chance to — in the words of the unique promotional/philanthropy campaign being unrolled by TD Canada Trust — “make today matter.” Come out to hear Mike’s incredible journey, and how living and working with his own disability led to opening a rehabilitation and wellness center for people with spinal cord injury and other neurological disabilities.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, tickets for the The Ability First 2015 Champion Awards are complimentary and include breakfast. If you have any dietary restrictions or require accommodations of any other variety, please contact us and we will make the appropriate arrangements.
